Description: A strange Alien signal is being broadcast throughout the Capital Wasteland, originating

from a crashed UFO. Is it a distress call, or something far more sinister? That question is answered when

you find yourself beamed aboard an enormous Alien spacecraft, with only one alternative – to fight your way

to the bridge of the ship and secure your escape. Mothership Zeta takes Fallout 3 in an entirely new

direction – outer space. Meet new characters and join with them in a desperate bid to escape the Aliens’

clutches. To do so, you’ll wield powerful new weapons, like the Alien Atomizer, Alien Disintegrator and

Drone Cannon, and deck yourself out in brand new outfits, like the Gemini-Era Spacesuit and even Samurai

Armor.

In Mothership Zeta the aliens have returned and they are not happy. The mothership answers the distress

call sent out by the alien ship at the Alien Crash Site and abducts the player, making the whole add-on

take place onboard of the alien ship. Mothership Zeta is in orbit around Earth and the aliens have been

watching Earth for quite some time. Onboard the Mothership, the questline is not completely linear and

features some exploration. You are able to take a spacewalk and you encounter other abductees, who are all

fictional characters from the Wasteland and Earth's past. The player is able to return to the ship once the

main quest is over and to use the ship as a "home-base of sorts".

Fallout 3 -- Operation: Anchorage is an action-packed expansion for Fallout 3. Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe -- the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders.

In this DLC pack, the Brotherhood of Steel Outcasts are trying to acquire advanced military tools, and the only way to enter the vault containing these relics is by completing a military simulation only the player can enter.

In the simulation the player fights in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe: the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from invading Red Chinese troops. The simulation is set between June 2076, when the T-51b Power Armor was first introduced, and January 2077, when Chinese forces were completely driven out of Alaska.

The Chinese Red Army is everywhere, and the player first has to secure the surrounding mountain side and then fight their way into the Chinese base. The player has to use a lot of their standard combat skills, along with several new tools that are only available in the DLC.

These include interactive strike teams under the player%u2019s command as well as unique armor, weapons, and other exotic gadgets. Throughout the simulation various pieces of intel are also hidden, yielding the Covert Ops perk.

Broken Steel alters the ending of the original Fallout 3 to allow continued play after the end of the main quest line. This means that when it is time to go into the reactor at the end of Take it Back!, you can still go in yourself or you can send one of three side characters. However, even if you go yourself, you do not die. Instead, you survive the ordeal and wake up two weeks later at the Citadel. If you allow the Purifier to explode, the game will still end.
The new content starts about two weeks after the events of Fallout 3's main quest and begins in the vicinity of Project Purity which is now up and running. Regaining consiousness inside the Citadel. The battle between the Brotherhood of Steel and the Enclave is still ongoing. You are then tasked with aiding a Brotherhood of Steel assault on a secret Enclave base located Southwest of the map. The attack does not go according to plan as an Enclave orbital bombardment destroyes Liberty Prime the most powerful weapon in the Brotherhood's arsenal. Tasked by Paladin Tristan to find the origin of the attack, you find only a unreadable code. Returning to the Citadel you must find a component to create the Tesla Cannon, a new, more powerful weapon for the Brotherhood. Once you have retrieved the Tesla Coil needed to create the Tesla Cannon from Olney Powerworks, an old power plant which is secretly a front used to create Tesla based technology, you travel to Adams Air Force Base via the Presidential Metro Line. Upon assaulting the Air Force Base you find a massive Mobile Enclave Crawler. Boarding it, you fight through a number of Enclave soldiers to the center computer terminal. From there you will find several targets which have been primed for attack by orbital bombardment. Choosing the Citadel, you are deemed a traitor by the Brotherhood of Steel and they will attempt to kill you. Choosing the Mobile Crawler you are rescued by Lyons' Pride and are returned to the Citadel to be heralded a hero of the Brotherhood of Steel

Tips for Broken Steel

* You need to install it before you complete FO3, but the game doesn't allow you to save after the ending anyway (without broken steel).

So just load it up and after you travel/sleep a few times a message will come up telling you Broken Steel has been loaded.

Make sure if you have the FEV virus in your inventory before pressing the suicide button, that you send Fawkes back to the museum (fire him). Otherwise he disappears for the rest of the game lol...

Possible solutions to game errors/problems

Problem #1 : Fallout 3 crashing / Fallout 3 crash to desktop (ctd) | Fallout 3 crashing at the start of the game
Solution : (from Bethesda website)
1. Click Start
2. Click %u201CAll Programs%u201D (or just Programs, depending on the version of Windows, whether they%u2019re using %u201Cclassic,%u201D etc.)
3. Go to the ffdshow folder.
4. Click %u201CAudio decoder configuration.%u201D
5. In the left hand pane, click %u201CInfo & debug.%u201D This is the second entry in the list.
6. In the right hand pane, near the bottom, find a check box labelled %u201CDon%u2019t use ffdshow in:%u201D
7. Check that box, and in the text box underneath (it lights up when you check the check box), add %u201Cfallout3.exe%u201D (don%u2019t include the quotes). If there is already something in that box, put a semi-colon ( ; ) after what%u2019s already there, and fallout3.exe after that. Do NOT use spaces, since ffdshow will think that%u2019s part of the filename. A valid entry would be %u201Cexplorer.exe;fallout3.exe%u201D (without quotes).
8. Finally, click %u201COk%u201D and start Fallout 3.

Problem #2 : Fallout 3 Freezing randomly in the game, sometimes permanently.
Solution :Try the solution listed above for problem #1

Problem #3 : Fallout 3 freezing when taking the goat (PS3)

For the Fallout 3 GOAT freeze workaround: make a save, quit to the main menu and reload the save. The game should resume normally


Problem #4 : Fallout 3 installation errors (PC)

Problem #5 : VATS inaccessible. R2 not opening up VATS menu (PS3)
Solution :
The Fallout 3 may not be able to recognize the Dualshock 3 controller (DS3). Disable the DS3 and enable the classic 6-axis controller. Turn them off again and re-enable the Dual Shock 3 and the controls should work properly

Operation: Anchorage

The quest objective for Operation: Anchorage will be activated by a radio broadcast stating, "This is Defender Morrill, any Outcasts listening on this frequency report to sector 7-B, Bailey's Crossroads. This is a high-priority message, backup is needed at our location. Any personnel listening on this frequency please report at once." A marker will appear on the world map. The DLC can be played at any time after the player exits Vault 101 at the beginning of the game.

The Pitt

Player will be informed of a new radio distress signal from a runaway slave called Wernher, who informs the Lone Wanderer that he needs help.

Broken Steel (install 1.5 patch)

Player will get popup message stating that Broken Steel has loaded and that level cap now is 30.

For all of the extensions - it can take up to few min for it to activate.
